Tim Williams - Parliamentary Training Consultant
Tim Williams is an experienced trainer and independent consultant focused on all aspects of Parliamentary procedures, and in particular the legislative process. He is an expert on Whitehall’s interaction with Parliament and the procedures of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
Tim joined the Civil Service in November 1967 and for most of his career worked in the DTI and its predecessors (such as the Board of Trade and the Ministry of Technology). He worked in the regional policy, overseas trade, aerospace and management organisation sections of the Department. He became Parliamentary Clerk to the Department of Trade & Industry in April 1989, and was responsible for coordinating the Department's Parliamentary activities. As Parliamentary Clerk he served under both Conservative and Labour Administrations before retiring in March 2005.
