Isobel Gowan
Isobel specialises in management, leadership and organisational development currently working with clients in the NHS and other public sector organisations on a group and individual basis. She coaches a variety of individuals, including doctors, to help them achieve their work and personal goals.
Isobel has more than 20 years' experience as an NHS leader, latterly as Chief Executive leading a merged acute and community Trust that spanned two DGHs, four community hospitals, five borough/district councils and two County Councils. She has designed and run management development programmes as well as action learning sets for a specialist NHS Trust and has worked with multidisciplinary groups in the public sector in Surrey, Kent, Hampshire and Northamptonshire as well as with a Trade Union.
Current projects include: coaching at the London Pension Fund Authority; strategy work with a leading GP practice; a Leadership Development programme in a major consultancy with colleagues from A New Kind of Leadership; as an Associate for Carbon Considerations leading change management in an NHS Carbon Reduction Programme She has long experience of the development of staff. Her key skills include coaching, facilitation, organisational development, leadership and board development, partnership working, improving communication, effective decision-making and management of change. Isobel has long experience of action learning sets both as a facilitator and a participant. She is an accredited assessor for psychometric testing including Myers Briggs.
