Paul Clarke, Chairman, European Information Association

After qualifying and working as a librarian, Paul moved into the field of EU information in the 1980s, eventually becoming the Managing Editor of the Lawtel EU database. In September 2001, he left Lawtel to set up EU Editorial Services Ltd.

Having been a Visiting Fellow at the European Business Centre at Anglia Ruskin University, he also provided European Court of Justice reports for Sweet & Maxwell for a number of years and is the author of several books on European topics including the Structural Funds, the EU budget and health and safety legislation.

Through EU Editorial Services he provides daily news services for Wolters Kluwer (UK) Ltd as well as supplying regular articles for that company on a range of topics including the environment, transport and EU law. He also produces a weekly EU legislation update bulletin for clients in the air transport sector and provides daily feeds to the EU section of the Justis database.

In March 2008, Paul was elected Chairman of the European Information Association (EIA) and remains in that position. As well as taking part in the Association's training activities, he has written and presented courses for the European Commission in the UK.
