Leanne Wood AM (Plaid, South Wales Central)

Member of the Scrutiny of the First Minister Committee and Legislation Committee No. 5

Leanne Wood was first elected to the Assembly in May 2003. She is Chair of Cwm Cynon Women’s Aid Board of Trustees and is Plaid Cymru’s Party Spokesperson on Sustainability. Leanne chairs the PCS Cross-Party Group in the Assembly and is vice-president of Searchlight Cymru, which campaigns against fascism. Her political interests also include the environment, poverty and social justice; issues affecting women and young people; international politics and the anti-war movement; and criminal justice. She is a committed socialist.
