Cllr. Peter Golds - Leader of the Opposition, London Borough of Tower Hamlets

Cllr Peter Golds has served on both Brent and Tower Hamlets Councils where he is currently leader of the Conservative Opposition.

Whilst on Brent he chaired the Environmental Services Committee and represented the borough on a number of regional and national organisations.

Before becoming an elected councillor he worked for a number of high profile politicians including several who were to serve as ministers in the Thatcher governments. He has been particularly involved in education and was awarded the OBE in 1996 for Services to Education. 

Currently he advises a number of major companies on local government issues in the housing and retail sector.

Outside of politics his main interests are Opera and embarrassingly, football.
