David Fairhurst, Director, Mutual Ventures
David is a specialist in the development and implementation of alternative public service delivery models ranging from cooperatives and other forms of social enterprise to Government trading organisations. He is skilled in financial and economic analysis and has extensive experience of preparing and evaluating business cases.
David has played a lead role in implementing major public service organisational change and has worked extensively with the Department for Education on the Social Work Practice pilot programme which saw groups of front-line social workers form their own social enterprises. He is a Mentor with the Cabinet Office's mutuals pathfinder programme which supports entrepreneurial public sector staff to form independent public service delivery enterprises. David has spoken on public service mutualisation at a number of high profile conferences including the Social Enterprise Coalition's annual Voice 11 conference.
