Anders Hultin - Chief Executive GEMS UK and co-founder, Kunskapsskolan    

Anders is an educational professional with more than 18 years experience of marrying together pioneering approaches to education with cutting-edge business thinking.

Anders joined GEMS in August 2009 and is the Chief Executive of GEMS UK.

GEMS Education has been in the education sector of nearly 50 years and has a global network of international schools catering to all segments of society that spans Europe, North America, Africa, Middle East, Asia and Australia. Over 100,000 pupils attend GEMS schools from 125 countries. In the UK GEMS own and operate 12 schools with 2500 pupils and 650 employees.

Between 1991 and 1994 Anders worked as a political advisor to the Swedish Ministry of Schools. During that time his work concentrated on introducing the voucher regime in Sweden. The voucher regime is now held up as a world-wide role model for countries that would like to introduce innovations and competition in educational provision.

During the mid 1990s he founded and was Managing Director of the central organisation representing Independent schools in Sweden.

In 1999 Anders co-founded Kunskapsskolan. He was Chief Executive of this company for eight years during which time the company became the largest provider of secondary education in Scandinavia operating thirty-two schools with more than 10, 000 students.

The company is particularly known for the development of a ‘personalised model’ of education and has attracted world-wide interest as a result of its utilisation of ground-breaking methods of learning and teaching.
