Lembit Opik, Training Consultant and
Former MP (Lib Dem, Montgomeryshire)
Lembit Opik was Liberal Democrat MP for Montgomeryshire from 1997-2010. Before serving in parliament he served as Global Human Resources Training & Development Manager at Procter & Gamble. One of his main focuses was developing the capacity of teams and individuals to respond effectively to change.
On becoming election he became the Party spokesman on Northern Ireland and for young people. In 2001 he became spokesman for Wales and joined Charles Kennedy's Shadow Cabinet. In July 2007 Lembit became the Party’s Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform spokesman, and then in December 2007 he became Lib Dem Housing Spokesman. He has continued with training and development work throughout his parliamentary career, and now focuses on assisting organisations facing change to maximise the opportunities this presents.
