Simon Hamilton

Simon Hamilton MLA (DUP, Strangford)

Simon Hamilton was elected to represent the Strangford constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly in March 2007. He is also currently Deputy Chairperson of the Finance & Personnel Committee and a member of the Enterprise, Trade & Investment Committee and the Public Accounts Committee.

He has been a Councillor on Ards Borough Council since 2005 representing the Newtownards Town DEA. Within this role he has been Chairman of the Council's Rates Sub-Committee, helping Ards to set its lowest percentage rate increase in five years in 2007. He is a member of both the Orange Order and the Royal Black Institution.
