Simon Courage

Simon is a highly experienced facilitator and consultant. He specialises in public services. He works with a wide range of clients, including central government departments and agencies, local authorities, NHS and police bodies and voluntary and community organisations. He has considerable experience of: working with top teams and partnerships; the development of strategy and mechanisms to ensure delivery of strategy; the development of approaches to tackling social exclusion, especially through integrated services for children and families; and organisational change and design.

Previously, Simon worked for five years as a senior fellow at the Office for Public Management. Before that, he worked for 12 years in policy development and supporting ministers in central government departments, including the departments now called HM Treasury, the Department for Children, Schools and Families, the Cabinet Office, the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

Simon has a degree in linguistics and international politics. He is the Director of his own company, familia consulting.

Simon is committed to improving public services in order to reduce poverty and alleviate its effects. He was the chair of a Local Strategic Partnership in a deprived area for a year and is now the chair of a regeneration association in south London.
