Baroness Sally Hamwee - Former Chair, London Assembly

Sally was appointed a Life Peer in 1991 and is now Leader of the Liberal Democrat team shadowing the Department of Communities and Local Government in the House of Lords. She is a member of the Council of Management (and past-chair) of Refuge and a Member of the Governing Council of the Family Policy Studies Centre. In addition she is president of the Town and Country Planning Association. She is Joint President of the Association of London Government and a Council Member of the Arts Council, London. Sally was a Councillor for the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames for 20 years from 1978 to 1998 and from 1986 to 1994 she was chair of the London Planning Advisory Committee.
