Paul Evans - Clerk, House of Commons

Paul Evans has been a Clerk in the House of Commons since 1981. He has worked for the Energy, Health, Defence and Human Rights Committees as well as heading up the Committee Office "ScrutinyUnit". He has also worked on the procedural, chamber-related side of the Clerk's Department, including the Public Bill Office which deals with legislative committees. He is currently a Principal Clerk of Select Committees, managing the staff teams of eight select committees. He is the author of Dod's Handbook of House of Commons Procedure, the sixth edition of which will be published shortly.
